More (attempts at) Censorship by YouTube 6-5-19… “YouTube to Remove Thousands of Videos Pushing Extreme Views”

This is another attempt by the social media giant to give themselves some sort of “permission” to censor alternative views (and research) about events. Clearly (my view) they, like other social media platforms, are creating “rules” to monitor what is “right and proper” for us to see. Sounds like 1984 to me.

The comments by YT spokespeople illustrate how ridiculous this is. YouTube saying (re: Steven Crowder, a conservative commentator with nearly four million YouTube subscribers, whose videos were demonetized) that “a pattern of egregious actions has harmed the broader community”, means that free expression “harms” other people, when for most of us, particularly myself, if someone is writing things I don’t care to see, I stop reading them.

Very clearly the social media giants are afraid of what is soon going to happening to them, as they are exposed and they continually show themselves for who they are… propaganda outlets.

And you know they are reaching and desperate when the article uses the words “conspiracy theorists” (a term coined by the CIA).

I’ve higlighted a couple things from the article below the title.

YouTube to Remove Thousands of Videos Pushing Extreme Views (NY Times)

“YouTube announced plans on Wednesday to remove thousands of videos and channels that advocate neo-Nazism, white supremacy and other bigoted ideologies in an attempt to clean up extremism and hate speech on its popular service.

“The new policy will ban “videos alleging that a group is superior in order to justify discrimination, segregation or exclusion,” the company said in a blog post. The prohibition will also cover videos denying that violent events, like the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut, took place.

[re: Steven Crowder, a conservative commentator with nearly four million YouTube subscribers, whose videos were demonetized] ““We came to this decision because a pattern of egregious actions has harmed the broader community,” the company wrote on Twitter.

“In response to the criticism, YouTube announced in January that it would recommend fewer objectionable videos, such as those with conspiracy theories about the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks and vaccine misinformation, a category it called “borderline content.””
