Mauna a Wākea News 12-15-15… “Equipment to be Removed from Mauna Kea Tomorrow, 12-16-15”

[Update 2334 HST: Just after posting this, and sharing on the Stand for Mauna a Wākea and We Are Mauna Kea FB pages, the time was 11:11 PM. I walked outside and looked up at the starry night sky. All of a sudden, I saw a shooting star in the east. When I checked my iPhone maps, I noticed that the shooting star was flying directly over Mauna Kea. Mahalo Ke Akua…!]

I was looking through the Stand for Mauna a Wākea FB page, and saw this important announcement… The equipment (heavy machinery) is to be removed from the Mauna tomorrow. Many have been working toward this, and after the Hawaii Supreme Court decision, and many requests (demands?) which followed to remove the leaking machinery, it is finally happening.

If any know of some who intended to go to Mauna Kea tomorrow, it might be wise for them to check for details before going up there. There will be a group of Kū Kia`i Mauna protectors meeting at Hale Pōhaku. See below for details.

Unofficial Notice: Just received a message from a secret agent. Here is the message: “TMT’s contractor, Goodfellow Brothers, will be transporting equipment off the summit on Wednesday, December 16. The transportation may continue through Thursday. The loads will be slow moving, oversized, and accompanied by safety escorts. The trucks will leave Hale Pohaku around 8:00 am for traveling to the TMT site.” Paka

Ho‘okahi ka umauma, Ho‘okahi pu‘uwai together we rise – Gathering at 7 am tomorrow morning at Hale Pōhaku. As we prepare to make our way up to the Mauna tomorrow to chant and sing while the machinery that has been sitting at proposed TMT site leaves, I reflect on the journey that brought us to this moment.

The power in aligning with the kapu aloha has manifested in boundless blessings and it has been the Mauna that has guided us this far.

When I think of the mountain, I think of profound grace, humble wisdom, and unwavering compassion. These are the virtues I carry in my heart especially on a day like tomorrow. It is a gentle reminder to remain in a place of gratitude for the incredible blessings that have come forth, to remain in a place of humility as we witness the manifestation of these blessings, and to remain in a place of compassion for all people and all beings. May we stand like mountain and forward on with all of our strength, all of our courage, and all of our love. Eō Wākea.
