[Update 2: I just spoke with Precious Clark, in New Zealand, for a few minutes to thank her and their group for supporting the protecting ancestral lands in Hawaii, and performing ceremony at various locations around the Pacific. She was very pleased to speak with someone from the Big Island, and shared her own connections to Hawai’i. They have a Facebook page, “My Mountain Speaks“, and one for the July 18 event.]
[Update: those who wish to join in this at the same time, 0900 7-18-15, Auckland, NZ, time, here are a few conversions: 7-17 1100 HST; 7-17 1400 PDT; 7-17 1700 EDT; 7-17 2100 UTC. (see Time and Date for other time zones)
This includes a short interview with Dr. Keanu Sai in this Maori produced show. It also indicates the strong support from the Kingdom of Hawai’i’s Polynesian family. I felt very strongly this needed to be posted (found this on FB).

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
“My Mountain Speaks: Maori to stand in solidarity with Hawaiian’s to stop TMT construction on sacred land.”
New Zealanders have been called to participate in a Pacific wide ceremony in support of the people of Hawaii protecting ancestral lands. People have been invited to gather at Okahu Bay in Auckland on Saturday 18th July at 9 am, and be part of a mass karanga and spiritual ceremony. Participating countries include Hawaii, Rapanui, Tahiti, Rarotonga, Requa and of course Aotearoa, who will be undertaking similar ceremonies across the Pacific. Leading political scientist from the University of Hawaii, and supporter of the ‘Protectors of Mauna a Wakea’, Dr Keanu Sai will be in attendance at the Okahu Bay event and will provide an update of the current occupation of Mauna a Wakea. The intention is to highlight and cease the threat of the construction of the world’s largest telescope, the Thirty Metre Telescope (TMT), on the summit of Mauna a Wakea on the Big Island of Hawaii. The construction, or more aptly described as destruction, is seen as a direct attack on the physical, spiritual and cultural integrity of the maunga and the wellbeing of the Hawaiian People and the generations to come.
