Related to what was done yesterday… “Hawaiians Rebuke Lava Diversion Talk”

Did you know that there is a lava flow here on the Big Island? It’s flowing from Pu’u ‘O’o to the east. Check out the first video to see the latest update, from 9-5-14. And you may read more here.

Now with the journey yesterday, I know it had something to do with the “awakening” of the local non-Hawai’ian community (in Puna) at this meeting about the lava flow. In particular, about ideas to divert the flow mechanically, and keep it away from houses. Check out the video below.

In the end, for now, my understanding is that the “non-enlightened to Pele” views come from an old old paradigm that says, “You’ve got to fight nature”, “It’s a war against nature”, and “The Planet is something we can do whatever the hell we want to do and tough shit if you don’t like us moving in our bulldozers and heavy machines to destroy the land.”

Bottom line, we can work in harmony with this Planet. The Hawai’ian speakers in the video know this. The Lava, Pele, and the Spirit of the land is what we should listen to. And that is where we’re headed.
