As I’ve been getting ready to play music again at the Kona Coffee Cultural Festival, there is much that I have “had” to do to get ready. Check the equipment (does everything work, are there enough batteries, do I have to clean out the mildew, etc.), check CDs supply (if not enough, order more), practice (do my fingers work, are the fingers still attached to the hands, keep the posture, do I have all my song sheets), then, finally, perform.
Sometimes it feels like a PAIN IN THE OKOLE!!! (look that one up, a Hawaiian word… homework for today). Then the performance, which is really just playing out in front of people, but more like a background music entertainer. And I find it is fun, in the end. (you may view some of what I do by clicking on “Kauilapele’s Music Site“, in the blogroll at right (or click the link I just now put in here)).
Today though, just now (after my printer started printing everything off-center, and ink was getting all over the place, and oh, I forgot to do this, and print that, and I’ve still got a couple more things to do… oops, pardon about that), and actually before as well, it hit me that what I am doing no matter how “well” I think I do, is actually “BE-ing” who this energy form is. This “Kauilapele”, or this “Kauwila” (my Hawaiian music name), or this “Brad” (my parental-unit-given first name), is carrying the energy, the essence of what “I am” at that moment.
And at this period of intense and sometimes changing all the time but rising in frequency (energy) each and every moment for all of us, I am carrying that energetic message out to each and every one who is in the vicinity of where I am playing (or just being). Everybody around, somehow, “gets” it. They may not know it, but they get it.
And this is true for each and every one of us. We be who we be, so those around us may see what we see. And maybe even be who they be. Does that make any sense at all?
Anyway, had to put all these words here for some reason.
