This whole thing is such a farce. As a scientist, I learned I should always be open to alternative explanations (theories) for observed events, and that all points should be considered. Now many of the social media giants are trying to say that they will decide what things we should see, and that those alternative explanations (theories) for things are only okay to publish if they say so. Otherwise… CENSOR.
1984, baby!
One point is clear. To me these are prime examples of MSMIM (Main Stream Media Information Manipulation) (or change that to “Mind Manipulation”). When people like Salon’s Jared Holt (referred to in the first article) say, “I hope these [social media] platforms realize that the problem is bigger than Infowars and that users are counting on them to follow through with the promises they made to counter this kind of misinformation“, they are calling the information put out by Alex Jones, et al., as mis-information, rather than “alternative information”, or “alternative explanations” for events, etc. They are saying what you should believe.
My personal deal is that I am not a labeler, and I do not live as a “label” anything… whether it’s political, how I live, sexual, etc., etc., etc. I do not label myself as a “liberal”, “conservative”, “Democrat”, “Republican”, “Christian”, “Buddhist”, etc., etc., etc. But I feel all people are free to express themselves as they are… no matter who they are, and how they appear or in what kind of body they have “shown up” in.
For myself, I AM the IAM that I AM. And that’s it, baby!
“…Jared Holt, the man credited with getting InfoWars booted from major social platforms, admitted that he was “offended” and jealous that Alex Jones had a Spotify podcast… it seems the motivation to ban InfoWars didn’t really stem from concerns about “hate speech” or what have you…[they] took down Alex Jones because his hard work and effort to build such a tremendously trafficked network made someone else jealous. And rather than putting in that same effort to get his own podcast listed on Spotify, Mr. Holt set out to take what someone else had worked for…
“…freedom-loving Americans can still reject their narrative and refuse to bow-down to the socialists-in-training.”
Social media’s self-regulation is “very dangerous” for society, warns President Trump
[Related to this Kp blog post] “In a recent interview, President Trump gave an ominous warning about the path Big Tech has decided to take, cautioning that banning people for their points of view is a “dangerous” thing. Trump told Reuters, “I won’t mention names but when they take certain people off of Twitter or Facebook and they’re making that decision, that is really a dangerous thing because that could be you tomorrow.””
Authoritarian Left now CELEBRATES the extermination of the free speech they once claimed to defend
” CNN media correspondent Brian Stelter is having an identity crisis. While on the one hand he claims to be a vehement supporter of free speech, Stelter is now gushing with glee over the censorship and removal of Alex Jones and his InfoWars channel from the social media-sphere.
“Classic liberalism is all about securing the freedom of the individual – so what happened? It’s quite the about-face for liberals, who at one time in the not-so-distant past were the quintessential champions of free speech for all. This is the essence of classical liberalism, anyway, which seems to be a far cry from the neo-liberal fascism embodied by modern [liberals] like Stelter who apparently have no qualms about trampling the rights of others who think differently from themselves.”
Facebook Bans “Activist Mommy” Elizabeth Johnston As The Purge Of Conservatives Accelerates
“Social media websites are the marketplace of today, and the tech giants have decided that they are going to take control of public conversation by removing any conservative voices that “offend” them. And it turns out that there are vast numbers of prominent conservative voices that are deemed to be deeply “offensive”.
“Of course the truth is that anything that offends politically-correct sensibilities in any manner whatsoever is now considered to be “hate speech”, and that is why one prominent theology professor was recently banned by Facebook…”
