180802 Journey 1 HI DEF… (and a note or two or three about it)

So I had an intention of going up to Hawi in North Kohala, using the upper road. But police were telling people upper road was blocked off, but did not say why. So I went back to the lower road, and got going that way. But it kept getting hotter anf hotter, and eventually reached 96 F!

So I figured I’d go up Waikoloa Road, to Waimea, then up Kohala Mountain road, to Hawi. But in Waikoloa, THAT road was blocked off. So at that point, I knew it was my time to turn around and go back home.

Reason the roads were blocked, there was fire (probably grass fire). There’s a lot of burning going on, baby! Eruptions and burnings!
