Kp Note 12-17-19… “Mom update… Something has changed”

Mom’s rehab center called this PM and said she was exhibiting “stroke like” symptoms on her right side. She was so bright and present yesterday, that this was a big surprise.

She was later admitted to the hospital, and diagnosed with a small blood clot in the left side of the head, so her right side has been unresponsive. However, the emergency doctor said it is small enough that it might resolve itself. She cannot get blood thinners because of the brain hemorrhage she had in October.

She is now in ICU and she seemed very comfortable when I held her hand at about 11:30 PM tonight. I said goodbye from myself and Dad, and said we’d see her tomorrow. The doctors should update us in the morning. Right now, it’s 1:42 AM, and I am going to bed.
