Four pods, each with 2-3 human leaders. Later in the day, all went to get snorkel gear then we met at Kahalu’u Beach Park to practice snorkeling. Very excellent way to be sure all are ready to swim with dolphins tomorrow. I had not snorkeled for several years, and quickly got used to it. The pod leaders were great, showing us the techniques to use to get ready, to get in, and to swim with all that stuff (face mask, snorkel) on your head!
By the way, the fish were beautiful and varied!! Saw a few humuhumu nukunuku apua’a and a couple parrotfish (u’u), who could be heard crunching the reef when they ate.
[Kp note: note: on the way there, I saw waves were UP at Magic Sands, so I stopped and body surfed for half hour and caught a couple nice waves!! Overall, a couple hours in the water… That’s Heaven, in my view!!]
