[Kp note: okay, just took out the “Whipped cream on bullshit pie”) piece from the title. Even though I still feel it’s a perfect description of what has been done here (and many other places) by the US CORP.]
Found this article (from Andre Perez on FB) at Lanny Sinkin’s FB page. I feel it really hits the mark, particularly after my extensive “real Hawaiian History” education which, for me, started last May. I’ve seen this happen over here, for example, with groups like:
- OHA ([an e.g.] “The Kāmau a Ea series of governance events engaged leaders of Hawaiian self-governance initiatives in collective efforts to rebuild a Hawaiian nation.“).
- Kana’iolowalu (“Unified to rebuild the Hawaiian Nation. Nation building is moving forward, and there will be more information soon…“).
“Rebuild the Hawaiian Nation”… That sounds so “wonderful” and “nice”.
What those statements don’t tell you is that those statements mean, building a “Hawaiian nation within another nation” (the US), namely, within the same nation (US CORP government) that stole the Kingdom in the first place!!!
I will be blunt here… This is exactly like being given a “Bullshit pie covered with whipped cream”. That’s what Hawaiians have been given for decades.
Enough already!!!
These are clearly attempts to keep this whole game of delay and deception rolling along.
Come on… those particular two examples (statements from OHA and Kana’iolowalu), they say exactly the same thing: “rebuild a (the) Hawaiian Nation“. Where’s the statement about “restoring/re-energizing the Kingdom of Hawai’i”? It’s not there. And from those groups, you’ll never see it. It’s all a ploy to keep people here (both those of Hawai’ian ancestry and non-Hawai’ian ancestry) in the dark.
Has anyone ever heard of “carrot on a stick”? To me, that’s exactly what all of those “Hawaiian nation building” groups are about. Except it could be called, “‘Hawaiian Nation’ on a stick.” “Keep the deception going… keep the people in the dark…” And thus, keep the Kingdom from ever coming back.”
Or as some might say, “Just keep putting more whipped cream on that bullshit pie. They’ll get used to it.”

Divide and conquer strategy builds support across ethnic lines
by Stephen O’Harrow (Advertiser, Sunday 8/15/99) [Kp note: using http://archive.org, I was unable to locate this article, as the only date archived for “the.honoluladvertiser.com” was 8-1-1999]
If the people who in fact run Hawai’i today, the oligarchy, want to maintain a hold on power, if they want to make sure that their power is not in danger from the Hawaiian Sovereignty Movement, and if they want to insure that those people of Hawaiian ancestry who have historically been exploited by society remain unable to obtain any true redress, redress that might threaten the power and wealth of the current elite, there are four things they must do:
•Keep them talking
•Keep them litigating
•Buy off the leadership
•Divide and Conquer
“Keep them talking” means encourage a continuous series of ballots, consultations, and meetings (the more complex, frequent, drawn out and inconclusive, the better..), and any other event which can give public emphasis to factionalism in the name of ending factionalism – and be sure to woo the participation of as many competing leaders as possible.
“Keep them litigating” means keep the Hawaiians fighting on familiar turf, where the elite already owns most of the weapons. Lawsuits are costly, slow and opaque. The powers that be have more money and lawyers than the opposition. They write the laws and they name the judges. So discourage political action and encourage recourse to the courts, preferably to the state courts, which can tie things up for very long periods of time, even before embarking on the endless delays of federal appeal.
“Buy off the leadership” does simply mean give them money, which could be seen as crude. Obviously it means hold out to various individuals or to the leaders of contending constituencies the vague promise of future power and position inside some sovereign entity that is eventually supposed to come about. Another way of saying it is “Don’t worry, if you can manage to stir up your supporters to keep on vying for leadership you will be rewarded some day with real power and money.”
Divide and conquer:
All of the above…
** do you see the correlations? “Keep them talking” in repetitive processes – Just like Kana’iolowalu.
“Discourage political action” and encourage recourse in the courts – Just like Mauna Kea.
