This letter was just released by Ali`i Mana`o Nui Lanny Sinkin (Chief Advisor to the King), and posted at the Kingdom of Hawai’i blog.
“Looking out across the landscape of the sovereignty movement, one simple truth has become clear to me – the final phase of restoration has begun. The public awareness that Hawai’i was never legally annexed, the exposure of the OHA/Roll Commission/Danner shenanigans, and the outpouring of support for the Kingdom at the Department of Interior hearings are all symptoms of the great change that is about to come. There is only one missing piece – unification of Kingdom supporters. That vision of completion led me to prepare the following message.
“The Kingdom needs to unite behind its King. We can look back over the past six or seven years and see a handful of people that offered to be King or Queen. Almost all of them have then gone on to discredit themselves or withdrawn from the field. Today, there is only one monarch on the field – Ali’i Nui Mōi Edmund Keli’i Silva, Jr… The time has come for those who put themselves forward as leaders to acknowledge that the Kingdom needs a King and that [he] stands out as the one who best fulfills that function.
“The Kingdom also needs the restoration campaign to be a coordinated effort pursuing a coherent policy. Future communications with the occupying power or any other foreign government should come through the King… Otherwise, we give the impression that there is no real leadership, only isolated groups addressing isolated topics with limited application.
“…You can pledge your support by sending me an email that simply says “Yes.” [email protected].
“We will provide the public with a complete report on who among those who profess to support restoration of the Kingdom have joined with the King for a united effort and on those who do not… So what about it Mililani Trask, Dexter Kaiama, Keanu Sai, Bumpy Kanahele, Professor Williamson Chang, Henry Noa, and all you others who call for restoration/ deoccupation?”

Looking out across the landscape of the sovereignty movement, one simple truth has become clear to me – the final phase of restoration has begun.
Brutus: There is a tide in the affairs of men.
Which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune;
Omitted, all the voyage of their life
Is bound in shallows and in miseries.
On such a full sea are we now afloat,
And we must take the current when it serves,
Or lose our ventures.Julius Caesar Act 4, scene 3, 218–224
For those truly interested in seeing the Kingdom restored, the time has come to acknowledge the existing situation and to unify. Not to do so risks losing the opportunity presented to us.
The existing situation is that there are various groups and individuals pursuing different pathways. While this diversity served us well in the past, that very diversity is now an obstacle to completing our mission.
The Kingdom needs to unite behind its King. We can look back over the past six or seven years and see a handful of people that offered to be King or Queen. Almost all of them have then gone on to discredit themselves or withdrawn from the field. Today, there is only one monarch on the field – Ali’i Nui Mōi Edmund Keli’i Silva, Jr. whose Hawaiian name is Ke’alohilanikikaupe’aokalani–‐kapahupinea–‐kaleikoa–‐ keopuhiwa–‐Paki.
He has been through the fires of persecution and emerged stronger and wiser. Neither false imprisonment nor the covert operations run against him while in prison could deter him from pursuing what he understood to be a sacred calling to restore his nation.
He has put forth a vision and a plan for the restored Kingdom. See the document “Vision and Plan” found in the “Read The Kingdom’s Documents” section of the Kingdom’s website at www.KingdomofHawaii.info
He has called upon any other claimant to step forward and offered to stand aside should that claimant offer a superior alternative. No one responded to his challenge.
He has pulled back the curtain on those who pretend to serve the interests of Hawaiians, while doing the bidding of the occupying power. He has spoken out forcefully against the nation–‐within–‐a–‐nation proposal as a betrayal of the ancestors’ Ku’e and the kuleana created by that Ku’e for those who have come afterwards.
He has reached out to the nations of the world, who had treaties with the Kingdom, and offered them the opportunity to reanimate the agreements that they allowed to be violated and to renew diplomatic relations.
Look around. There is no one that comes close to providing what he has provided for the Kingdom.
The time has come for those who put themselves forward as leaders to acknowledge that the Kingdom needs a King and that Ali’i Nui Mōi Edmund Keli’i Silva, Jr. stands out as the one who best fulfills that function.
The Kingdom also needs the restoration campaign to be a coordinated effort pursuing a coherent policy. Future communications with the occupying power or any other foreign government should come through the King. Addressing international bodies or institutions should be a coordinated effort of the Kingdom. Issues of law should be brought to the King for discussion with the Royal Judiciary. Otherwise, we give the impression that there is no real leadership, only isolated groups addressing isolated topics with limited application.
The occupying power is in partial disarray precisely because those supporting restoration have done their work. Now is the time to solidify those gains and prepare for the final push to independence. The King is the one uniquely situated to provide the leadership that will achieve that goal.
The question is not really whether the King should be accepted by all the people. The question is whether the people are ready to be represented by a true King. You can pledge your support by sending me an email that simply says “Yes.” [email protected].
We will provide the public with a complete report on who among those who profess to support restoration of the Kingdom have joined with the King for a united effort and on those who do not.
So what about it Mililani Trask, Dexter Kaiama, Keanu Sai, Bumpy Kanahele, Professor Williamson Chang, Henry Noa, and all you others who call for restoration/deoccupation?
Do you agree that now is the time to have a King in place? That King Edmund has shown the qualities of courage, steadfastness, leadership, compassion, and vision that the Kingdom needs? That King Edmund is the only one stepping up to truly fulfill the kuleana of King? That he has gifted the Kingdom and the world with a vision and plan that addresses the real challenges we face on this planet? If you agree, then let me know so we can join forces.
Mahalo nui loa.
